Het idee van de persoonlijke zegel is in Oostenrijk zeer goed aangeslagen. Zeker dankzij een zeer goede samenwerking tussen de Post, de Oostenrijkse Staatsdrukkerij (öeD) en de Oostenrijkse Bond van Filatelisten (VöPh). De verstrengeling van Post en Staatsdrukkerij was tot voor kort optimaal. De in 2006 gehouden openbare aanbesteding voor postzegels heeft het monopolie van de öSD doorbroken. Drukkerij JESP in Haarlem drukt thans ook zegels voor Oostenrijk. |
The idea of a personalized stamp was quite succesfull in Austria. Thanks, no doubt, due to the good cooperation between the Austrian Post, the Austrian State Printers (öeD) and the Austrian Philatelic Federation (VöPh). The cooperation between the Post and the Printers was optimal up till now. Last year a public tender could break the monopoly the State Printers had. JESP, at Haarlem, also prints stamps for Austrian Post now! |

Opvallend is dat hoewel de catalogisering grotendeels buiten de twee in Oostenrijk populaire catalogi blijft, de PM's toch een grote populariteit genieten en het assortiment beschikbaar is dankzij de websites van Adolf Kosel, MeineMarke, Philatelie.AT maar vooral ook de Oostenrijkse Ebay-site met een aparte categorie voor Personalisierte Marken. De thematische verzamelaars kunnen daar alles vinden naar hun gading. De druk- en print- kwaliteit van de persoonlijke zegels is ongetwijfeld ??n van de voornaamste redenen van de grote populariteit. De Nederlandse Post kan nog veel van de Oostenrijkers leren. |
