Geen kenmerk van een van de drukcylinders, maar wel degelijk op een vaste plek om de 3 blokjes terugkerend zijn zeer fijne inkepingen in de rode rechterbovenkant van het blokje, een tekst in spiegelschrift met de basis naar links. Het gaat hier om een afdruk van de slit-plaatjes waarmee ook de (pseudo-)perforatie is aangebracht. Deze slit-plaatjes worden t.b.v. Walsall Security Printing vervaardigd bij het eveneens in Walsall gevestigde bedrijf Rotometrics. De slit-plaat is een dunne, flexibele metalen plaat - tussen A4 en A3 groot -dat om een magnetische cylinder wordt gewikkeld. De bedrukte papierbaan wordt tijdens het slitten in de slit-plaat geperst. Aandruk-rollen kunnen ongelijkmatige druk uitoefenen wat soms binnen één blokje tot variatie in slit-afdruk leidt. We komen ze in eerst instantie tegen bij de hangblokken met 5 zegels Kon. Beatrix, maar sinds januari 2006 ook bij de habgboekjes 10 voor Nederland. |
Although not a characteristic of the printing cylinders themselves, but still occuring on a constant place every 3 blocks, are the more or less deep imprints in the red area at the top righ tof the block. The texts or figures have the base to the right and are always mirrored. The imprints originate from the kiss-diecut plates that are being used by Walsall Security Printing and have been made by the also Walsall based firm of Rotometrics. The kiss-diecut plate is a thin, flexible metal plate - sized between A4 and A3 - that got wrapped around a magnetic cylinder, the printed paper-web gets pressed into that cylinder and thus gets its kiss-die-cut. Pressure rolls can exert a varying pressure on the web thus sometimes causing the kis-diecut be completely different within a single block. We find them priamrily on the blocks of 5 stamps Queen Beatrix, but since January 2006 they were also found on the hangbooklets '10 for The Netherlands'. |

Deze ROTOMETRICS afdrukken tot dus ver vooral gevonden bij de blokjes met circa 0.6mm hechtpunten: 0.25, 0.39, 0.50, 0.78 en 1.00. Bij de blokjes met 1.0mm hechtpunt alleen bij de 0.39 en 0.50, alhoewel fragmenten van de 2 verticale lijnen ook waarneembaar zijn bij andere waarden zoals de 0.65. Al deze kenmerken komen afzonderlijk voor op 6 van de 18 posities die de drukcylinders bieden en wel de uiterst linkse 3 posities hebben de inkepingen aan de linkerkant, de uiterst rechtse 3 posities hebben de inkepingen aan de rechterkant. Kenmerken van de 4 drukcylinders die ook op de uiterste zijden zitten komen dan ook voor samen met deze ROTOMETRICS indrukken. |
Those ROTOMETRICS imprints have been found predominantly with the blocks showing the narrow joins in the eyelets: 0.25, 0.39, 0.50, 0.78 and 1.00. Of the blocks with the broader [1.0mm] joins ontl the 0.39 and 0.50 were found. Nevertheless small fragments of the vertical lines can be seen [rather difficult] with some other values as well: 0.65. Out of the 18 block-positions - the cylinder, but also the kiss-diecut plates - contain 3 rows of 6 - the utmost 3 at the left side have the ROTOMETRICS imprint at the left, the utmost 3 at the right side have the imprints at the right. Characteristics of the 4 colour cyliinders the are present in the utmost left or utmost right column wil coincide with the ROTOMETRICS imprints. |
